Seeking Members for the
Tasmanian Beef Industry
(Research and Development) Trust
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment
(DPIPWE) is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who wish to
be considered for appointment to the Tasmanian Beef Industry (Research
and Development) Trust.
The Trust manages approximately $600,000 that was collected from
beef producers in the 1980's. The Trust funds research, development and
other activities that benefit the Tasmanian beef industry, with secretariat
support provided to date by the TFGA.
The Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Jeremy Rockliff, will directly
appoint three individuals with experience in the beef industry to the Trust.
One position is reserved for an individual with expertise in agricultural
science and knowledge of contemporary beef research and development.

Notice to owners or occupiers of land in the
Swansea, Cranbrook and Coombend districts
Tasmanian Irrigation is developing an irrigation project to supply
2,000 megalitres of high reliability summer water throughout the
Swansea, Cranbrook and Coombend districts.

Irrigator Group will be holding a water sales launch event at
11.00 am, Monday, 2 March 2015 at the Swansea Town Hall
This water sale is open to anyone who owns or occupies land in the
The sale price of water entitlements in the scheme will be $1,500
per megalitre. To make an o er to purchase water, you will need to
complete an application and pay a minimum deposit of 10% (2%
payable on application and 8% payable on con rmation that public
funding has been secured). The balance of the purchase price is
payable on commissioning of the scheme, which is forecast to occur
during the second half of 2016.
To purchase water entitlements an o er needs to be made during the
water sales period, which will open at the launch and close at 2 pm on
Tuesday, 31 March 2015.
The o er documentation and purchase contracts for the water sale
will be available for collection at the launch.
