Friday, October 15, 2010 Tasmanian Country 25 Get best bales in wet or dry BETTER BALES: The Krone Vario Pack works in every condition. What really makes the Krone Vario Pack work in every condition is that the slats actually intermeshes with the bale to keep the bale turning' When it comes to baling wet silage, hay or dry straw in the challenging Tasmanian conditions, the Krone Vario Pack delivers like no other TASMANIAN Farm Equipment marketing manager Mark Taylor be- lieves there is a fantastic hay season on the way. He also believes the Krone Vario pack baler is the right machine to take advantage of the season. ''This is due to the slat and chain bale chamber system of the VP1500 and 1800, which starts and turns the bale progress- ively,'' he said. ''The crop enters the bale chamber via the 1.95m wide galvanized pick up with five tine rows. ''A tine spacing of only 55mm guarantees even the shortest crop is picked up. ''The pick up also fea- tures quick adjustable gauge wheels and an auto- matic chain tensioner. ''The standard crop rol- ler ensures the crop is pushed onto the pick up tine for better throughput. ''Once the material is pushed into the bale chamber by the feed rotor, the slats of the elevator ensure an instant start. ''What really makes the Krone Vario Pack work in every condition is that the slats actually intermeshes with the bale to keep the bale turning. ''This effect avoids bale stops even in dry straw as experienced with conventional belt balers. ''It also reduces crum- ble loss of material, as the bale no longer slips. ''The bale size can be altered by pushing a but- ton on the monitor from 0.9m and 1.5m on the VP1500 and 0.9m up to 1.8m on the VP1800. ''The bales can be tied off with the reliable net or twine system. The change over of the net roll can be easily done from the ground in front of the machine. ''Grease banks and an automatic chain lubri- cation system make the daily service work a breeze,'' he said. For further infor- mation please contact Tas Farm Equipment.
