Final Bull Light Bash will benefit St Mary's HAGLEY RURAL YOUTH Rural Youth HAGLEY Rural Youth members are passionate about their club and the long association it has with their local community. For many years our club has successfully hosted the much- anticipated social event Bull Light Bash. This function was held at the conclusion of Agfest each year and after nearly 20 successful years the club has decided that 2010 would be its last. Over the years many Hagley members have worked hard to make Bull Light Bash a success and we wanted to ensure that the funds raised by the event could benefit the community and all members, past, present and future, so we decided to invite some past presidents to a meeting to discuss possible options. During this meeting it was brought to our attention that a local landmark, St Mary's Anglican Church at Hagley, needed funds for major repairs and our club felt this would be a great cause to contribute to. St Mary's had recently announced a fundraising appeal to repair two damaged buttresses and a cracked and sinking window at the church. St Mary's Church holds a special place in the hearts and lives of all Hagley Rural Youth members. It is a beautiful church, perched upon the hillside above where many of us attended school. Over the years it has seen our members and the community through the various phases of life, both the joyous occasions and sad farewells. We believed donating money towards the restoration is an investment in our history. We want to make sure that the church is there for future generations of the community and Hagley Rural Youth. It is with great pleasure that Hagley Rural Youth will make its donation towards the fundraising appeal. A presentation evening with light refreshments will be held at the church from 7pm on November 18. Hagley Rural Youth Club invites the community, in particular all past and present members and their families, to join them for the occasion. For further information or to RSVP for the evening, please contact either Steph Paterson on 0419 894 383 or Alisha Duggan on 0417 880 225.
