Pictures: NIKKI DAVIS-JONES EMMA HOPE OVER the past 11 years The Art of Tea has grown from a small family-run market stall to a professional business that now produces over 100 varieties of tea.Exhibiting at Agfest for the second year in a row, the business will be promoting the health benefits of tea. ''Teas are well known to have high levels of antioxidants,'' said Art of Tea owner Samantha Brown. ''Tea is also known to reduce stress and anxiety. ''We have specific herbal blends for helping people sleep or with arthritis, we've got a stress less tea and ones to help with digestive issues. ''We have a range of specific herbals to target specific health problems. ''We have also got a range of black and green teas which are good for general calm and well- being.'' Mrs Brown said the company sold their tea through many different outlets. ''We supply wholesale, retail and online and we still have the stall at Salamanca Market.'' The company imports in- gredients from some of the most famous tea-producing countries. ''I source my ingredients from all over the world, Sri Lanka, India, China. We do support the Australian tea industry as we have the Australian Daintree tea.'' They company uses Tasman- ian produce where possible. ''The Tasmanian Lavender Tea has lavender from the Nabowla lavender farm near Scottsdale.'' In August last year Art of Tea launched a special tea to help a local cause. ''We're very proud of our Tassie Devil Tea. For every tea sold we donate 50c to the Tas- manian Devil Appeal.'' Some lesser known teas are the most consumed varieties. ''The current favourite is a French earl grey, which is a black tea. Our organic pepper- mint is quite popular too.'' Taking part in Agfest is a highlight of the year, Mrs Brown said. ''Our enjoyment of Agfest was made by simply being able to talk to people face to face.'' G 07 Pavilion G 2011 Tassie flavours tempt THIS year's Agfest will again see the Unique Taste Pavilion housed in its purpose-built pav- ilion. Once again, the numbers of exhibitors in this highly popu- lar feature have increased and they are all excited at the prospect of being a part of the pavilion. This year Unique Taste has approximately 40 exhibitors, in- cluding a number of new stalls. A majority of the exhibitors are either Tasmanian or use Tasmanian produce. The Unique Taste Pavilion will include seating for approxi- mately 200 patrons both inside and outside the pavilion. There will be a wide range of produce including game meats, seafood, confectionery, small- goods, mustards, sauces, mush- rooms, pancakes, fruit and ber- ries, jams, shortbread and local wine.
