Friday, February 24, 2012 Tasmanian Country 23 Quoiba prices hold lower rates A TOTAL of 342 prime lambs were yarded at Quoiba this week to see prices hold recent lower rates. Best heavy pens topped at $128 with medium lines selling from $110 to $120. Small pens sold from $90 to $110. Heavy lambs: $120 to $128. Medium lambs: $110 to $120. Light lambs: $90 to $110. There were 197 mut- ton penned consisting mainly of CFA ewes with prices slightly dearer on selected lines to see a top of $63 for run on ewes and $58 for best slaughter lines. Heavy mutton: $50 to $63. Light mutton: $42 to $50. The 77 store lambs yarded saw increased de- mand for shorn lines toseeatopof$92with best in wool lines sell- ing to $84. Best lines: $84 to $92. Secondary lines: $48 to $60. An average penning of 30 pigs saw prices dearer that recent weeks on best quality but inferior types harder to quote. Best pork: $200 to $240. Secondary pork: $120 to $180. Store pigs: $45 to $70. Lambs: RA & LE Cun- ningham $128, RH Ansell $127, GA & EM Cole $127.50, TF McKenna $126, KJ Tomblinson $125.
