54 Tasmanian Country Friday, April 27, 2012 2012 Designs sparkle PIERINA Designs pro- duces a vast range of distinctive jewellery from vintage to contem- porary. It is a passionate jewellery design busi- ness established in 1989 and can be found at Agfest in the craft sec- tion D07. Since designing the first piece of Fimo jewel- lery at a humble kitchen table, Pierina now de- signs jewellery form ma- terials sourced from all over the world. From warehouses in New York to exotic and boisterous gem bazaars somewhere off the beaten track, Pierina has collected a vast range of hand-picked stones, pearls, leather and crystals and com- bines them with unique components made to Pierina Designs' fastidi- ous specifications. What sets Pierina De- signs apart is the creativity within each individual design. Necklaces and brace- lets have been designed tobewornintwoor three different ways. The vintage range showcases brass blend- ed with fine pastel beads, encased antique images surrounded by tiny faceted crystals, roman- tic brass hearts and ovals. Limited numbers of each design are handcrafted, with new pieces added to the col- lection monthly.
