TAS Country : June 14th 2012
Friday, June 15, 2012 Tasmanian Country 31 Politics blamed in board resignations HEREFORDS Australia Ltd has been rocked by the resignations of two direc- tors, former chairman Keith Miles and Marc Greening. Mr Greening resigned last Monday, 24 hours after the company's annual meeting at Dubbo on Sunday. Mr Miles resigned last Tuesday. ''I just couldn't cope with the industry politics,'' Mr Greening, who is principal of Injemira Genetics from Book Book, in NSW, said. Mr Miles was reported as saying that he didn't want to stay because his presence would be like a defeated premier remain- ing on a parliamentary backbench. The resignations capped off a turbulent month for the breed following the failure of two of the com- pany's prominent cattle- men, Richard Ogilvie and Adrian Spencer to be re- elected to the board. Queensland stud breeder, Steve Reid was elected chairman at the meeting.
