SOIL FIRST: A local farmer
discussion group today will
take advantage of the timing of
a biofumigant crop before
maceration and incorporation
in an orchard in Spreyton. Bio-
fumigant varieties, manage-
ment, potential diseases and
soil condition will be discussed,
along with other potential
cover cropping options for or-
chard management. The group
is hosted by Shane Weeks, 21
Pilgrim Rd, Spreyton, from
2pm to 4pm.
EQUINE SHOWCASE: A
stallion showcase and equine
trade expo will be held on Sep-
tember 30 at Quercus Park in
Carrick. The showcase day
runs from 9.30am to 4pm.
There will be breed demon-
strations, stalls, food available
with the stallions strutting
their stuff the stars of the day.
