CONSTRUCTION has start-
ed on the $50 million Ridley
Aqua feed mill at Westbury.
Ridley has 21 manufactur-
ing plants across regional Aus-
tralia and manufacturers about
two million tonnes for produc-
ers in the aquaculture, pig,
poultry, dairy, beef, equine and
pet food industries. It is an es-
tablished ASX-listed public
company. The Westbury mill is
expected to produce about
50,000 tonnes of aquaculture
feed a year, supplying markets
in Tasmania and New Zealand.
The project will need 250 local
contractors during construc-
tion and provide, about 20 full-
time positions once complete.
Work starts on feed plant
